Oompah Gene Oompah Gene Nikolai, a life long musician has played the Bass Horn since September 1954. During his sophomore year, his mom and dad purchased his first tuba and the rest as they say, "is history"! For 55+ years for those of you counting, Oompah Gene has played in numerous bands, including the family band his sister lead, The Nikolodians, The Don Frodl Orchestra, The PowerHouse Four, The Little People, The Dan Gritzmacher Band, and most recently, The Golden Aces & The Hayes Boys Orchestra.
